Diane L Christian

April 6, 1946 — October 23, 2023

Fitchburg/Sterling - Diane L. (Marcy) Christian, 77, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 23, 2023. Born and raised in Leominster, she was the daughter of the late John and Gertrude (O'Meara) Marcy.

Diane graduated from St. Bernard's High School and went on to further her education. She received a bachelor's degree from Fitchburg State College and earned a master's degree from Wheelock College in Early Childhood Education. She proudly attended Nova Southeastern University in pursuit of her Doctorate in Early Childhood Education. She shared her knowledge of teaching through various workshops and as an adjunct continuing education teacher at local colleges.

She truly enjoyed teaching and providing home daycare for 38 years owning her own business "Little School of Fish Daycare". After her retirement, she worked part-time at Sacred Heart Pre-School in Fitchburg. Diane loved children, not only hers but everyone's children. Countless children and their families were touched with her unconditional love and have memories that will stay with them forever. In her younger years, she could often be found working on her latch hook rugs, which is a fond memory for her children. She also had a passion for the ocean, jumping the waves filled her heart with joy. She truly was a mermaid. She often could be found dancing the night away surrounded by her friends. Later in life, she looked forward to spending time crafting beautiful wreaths and blankets to share with family and friends.

Those who knew her best will always remember that her favorite word was "JOY". If you looked up JOY in the dictionary you would see a picture of her! Diane often found JOY by making connections with others talking or engaging in things they loved to do. Her devotion and endless love for her children and grandchildren was her driving force. They were her entire world and legacy. She was fierce, full of life and brought it to everyone she ever met. Her laughter was infectious, and her smile lit up every room.

She will forever be lovingly missed and remembered by her children, Kevin Christian and his wife, Janice of Sterling and Rebecca Baldini and her husband, Jason of Fitchburg; her brother, Jack Marcy and his wife, Janet of South Hadley; and her seven grandchildren, Riley, Morgan, Mackenzie, Emily, Meghan, Bailey, and Gavin. Her beloved grand cat Sami and grand dog Harley. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Faith Reynolds.
