Dennis J. Harrington

August 26, 1943 — December 11, 2013

HOLDEN - Dennis Harrington, 70, of Princeton Street, Jefferson, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, under the loving care of his family and the staff at the Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester. He was born and raised in Jefferson, the son of Daniel J. and Laura G. (Occhialini) Harrington and had lived in Connecticut before moving back to Holden in 2002.



Dennis graduated from Wachusett Regional High School with the class of 1961 and attended Middlebury College in Vermont where he played both football and lacrosse. He excelled as an athlete and became an accomplished skier, golfer and fisherman. After leaving Middlebury College, he worked as a sales representative for Olin Ski, Bauer, Nike as well as other sporting companies. He was in charge of the U.S. operations of Look Binding Co.



He is survived and will be missed by his son, Jed Harrington of Fairfield CT; his ex-wife, Carol A. Harrington; his mother, Laura G. Harrington; his sister, Elaine Drawbridge of Holden; and five nieces and nephews, Yaran, Dara, Teagan, Nathan and Tanner, who he helped raise after the passing of their father. His brother-in-law, Stephen Drawbridge, predeceased him.



A private graveside service will be held at Grove Cemetery, Holden at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The family wishes to thank the staff at Jewish Healthcare and Tatnuck Park for their personal and professional care of all of Dennis’ needs. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden is assisting the family with arrangements.
