HOLDEN – Dennis P. Goselin, age 81, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at The Christopher House in Worcester.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Diane M. (Abasciano) Goselin and his five children, Lisa Mainella of Fall River, Lorry Spring of Erving, Eric Goselin and his wife Lisa, of Paxton, Nicole Johnson of Holden, Nina Goselin Walsh and her husband, Brendon Walsh of Holden; 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and one on the way. Dennis is predeceased by his mother, Bernice Katherine Ordesky, stepfather, Herbert Bushee and birth father, Roger Russell Goselin.
Dennis honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1961 - 1964. For many years he owned and operated an Insurance Agency alongside his wife. He lived all over the northeast and internationally in Germany, England, and Brazil, before eventually settling in Holden, MA.
Dennis cherished spending time with loved ones, especially his grandchildren, and was a man of faith. He truly lived life to the fullest and is remembered for his witty commentary and friendly conversation. Fondly referred to as, “The Mayor of Holden,” by friends in town, Dennis could be found driving around in his Jeep, visiting his favorite spots, Seven Saws Brewery, Val’s Restaurant, Quinn’s Blue Plate and Thai House of Holden, and getting his daily exercise with a “brief” 12-mile walk around town. He notably ran the Boston Marathon in 1986.
A 4:30 AM riser, Dennis would start each day with prayer, a fresh pot of coffee and his Bible. He enjoyed listening to music, traveling with his wife and family, and especially enjoyed good food and drink. He vacationed during the warmer months to the beaches of Cape Cod and southern Rhode Island.
Friends and loved ones are invited to visit with his family from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, December 27th, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A memorial service will take place at 10:00 am on Friday, December 29th, at the funeral home, with burial following at Mountain View Cemetery in Shrewsbury.
