LEOMINSTER – Dennis W. Bagley, 84, beloved husband of Phyllis (Bergeron) Bagley, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 21, 2018 at Sterling Village. Born and raised in Leominster, Dennis was the only son of Holman and Olive (Kendall) Bagley.
Dennis was a lifelong resident of Leominster and graduated from Leominster High School. After high school he served his community as part of the Volunteer Civil Defense during the Worcester Tornado, 1953. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed at Ft. Lee, Petersburg, VA where he served as Company Clerk. He returned to Leominster to raise his family and worked as an electronics and instrumentation specialist for many years and was employed by Barkley and Dexter Labs in Fitchburg as well as the City of Fitchburg, Waste Water Department, retiring in 1999. He enjoyed researching his genealogy alongside his daughter, Carla as well as his many other interests: woodworking, photography and music. In his younger years, Dennis and his wife enjoyed square dancing as well as round dancing at the Bay Path Barn in Boylston.
Dennis will be lovingly missed and remembered by his wife of 64 years, Phyllis of Leominster; his two daughters, Carla J. Bagley and her husband, John Crothers of Shirley and Brenda K. Gillingham and her husband, Phillip of Chelmsford; two granddaughters, Jasmine (Virkler) Tatel and her husband, Jeffrey of Leominster and Lauren Gillingham of Chelmsford; and two great-grandchildren, Ari and Garrett Tatel.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather with Dennis’ family from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling.
