HUBBARDSTON – Denis T. Curran, 72, beloved husband of Kathleen E. (Dryden) Curran, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, October 11, 2018. Born and raised in Clinton, he was a son of Edward and Dorothy (Salmon) Curran.
Upon graduating from Clinton High School, Denis enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country. After serving in the military, Denis returned home and began a long career as a boiler engineer. He was most recently employed by NRG Services, Inc. where he enjoyed 15 years of service. He could often be found woodworking, fly fishing or hiking. This past summer he enjoyed spending time with his family while vacationing in Rangeley, Maine. Denis loved to travel, anywhere and everywhere. He was a kind and generous man, helping anyone in need. Above all else, Denis was a family man who always made his family a priority in his life.
Denis will be lovingly missed and remembered by his wife, Kathleen “Katie” E. (Dryden) Curran of Hubbardston; his step-son, James Dryden and his wife, Marlene of Cherry Valley; his step-daughter, Rebecca O’Connor and her husband, Michael of Auburn; four brothers including Edward Curran of Clinton, William Curran and his wife, Lorraine of Hubbardston, John Curran of Clinton, and Paul Curran and his wife, Christine of Templeton; his twin sister, Denise Glidden of Leominster; and two grandchildren, Patrick Dryden and Tyler O’Connor.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Denis’ family from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 13th at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Denis will be laid to rest at St. John’s Cemetery, Parker Road, Lancaster.
