Biography
WORCESTER – Delma L. (Collamore) White, 80, formerly of Clinton and Holden, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital after an illness. She was born in Lowell, the daughter of Carroll M. and Delma E. (Brown) Collamore and had lived in Connecticut and Florida before moving back to Massachusetts.
Delma leaves her husband of 20 years, Kenneth E. White; three daughters, Sandra L. Crossman and her husband, Douglas of Gardner, Suzanne M. Axelrod and her husband, Neil of Marietta, GA and Cheryl L.D. Alonso and her husband, Vincent of Elizabethtown, KY; four sons, David C. Egeland of Fitchburg, Michael G. Egeland of Ashby, John P. Egeland and his wife, Eileen of Clinton and Daniel P. Egeland of CA; a sister, Barbara Howard-Phillips of East Falmouth; twenty-three grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a son, William Egeland, a grandson, Isaiah Alonso, and a sister, Nancy Braun.
Delma worked at Digital Corp, Nypro Corp. and was a supervisor at Wal-Mart. She was active in her grandson’s foundation, The Isaiah Alonso Foundation Inc. and was a member of the Red Hat Society in Florida. She enjoyed crocheting swimming, gardening and loved to spend time with her family.
A memorial service for Delma will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Interment will be private at Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon.
