Della Diane Doe

December 26, 1944 — November 29, 2022

HOLDEN - Della Diane Doe, 77, of Holden passed away on November 25, 2022.
Della was born in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota to her parents, Dagmar and Carl Dalquist. After her
father’s passing at the age of 3, she was embraced with an open heart by a new father figure,
Clarence “Pa” Noble.

She grew up in a farming community in Wolf Lake, Minnesota where she helped in the family
farm and bakery. Upon graduating high school, she moved to Minneapolis and began her career
in the insurance profession. Shortly after, Della once again moved to San Diego to travel and
see the world. There she met the father of her children, Gordon Alton Doe, while he served in
the U.S. Navy. Upon completing his tour, they moved to central Massachusetts, which was near
Gordon’s hometown of West Boylston, and started a family. Gordon unfortunately passed away
in 1986.

Years later Della met a gentleman by the name of Domenic Gigante. They’ve enjoyed these last
30 years together and experienced more than most couples have the opportunity to. They
traveled to Europe, Scandinavia, China and all over the United States.

Della’s greatest joy was her grandchildren and seeing them, engaging with them, and watching
them grow. She was known as an amazing cook but her grandchildren will remember her
cookies the most. When she wasn’t near the grandkids, Della spent most of her time reading
novels and caring to her houseplants. Her thumb could not be greener and she managed to
keep any plant not only alive but also thriving. Della also never missed reading the Sunday
paper with Domenic every week or meditating with him daily.

Della is survived by her long-time partner, Domenic; two sons, Bryan and Andrew Doe; and her
grandchildren, Ella, Elijah, AJ, and Anthony. She is preceded in passing by her parents, Dagmar
Dalquist, Carl Dalquist and Clarence Noble.
