STERLING - Deborah J. (O’Rourke) Baldelli, 66, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 24, 2014, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Hazel (Bacon) and Alfred O’Rourke and was raised in Fitchburg and St. Johnsbury, VT.
Deborah graduated from Fitchburg High School. She worked as a service order writer for New England Telephone and its successor, Verizon for 28 years before retiring in 2009. Deborah loved to create cross stitching designs, crafting rubber stamp cards and hosting parties for family and friends. She enjoyed ocean cruising, especially visiting her favorite island, St. Martin.
Deborah leaves her beloved husband of 18 years. Robert P. Baldelli; her two children, Mark Fisher and his wife, Diane of Leominster and Amy Fisher of Sterling; her two stepchildren, Kristen Brennion and her husband, Joseph of Hudson and Carrie Smith and her husband, Joseph of Sterling; her four sisters, Shirley Delle Donne of Florida, Beverly Ann Courville of Charlton, Maxine Evans of Sutton and Judith Gilpin of Douglas; her nine grandchildren, Mitchell and Hannah McCarthy, Jared and Cassandra Fisher, Kaitlyn and Kyle Smith, Amanda Howe and Ruth and Emily Brennion; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Alfred “Mickey” O’Rourke and Thelma Marsden.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Deborah’s family on Monday, December 29, from 4-7 p.m. at the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling, with a brief service of Remembrance held at the conclusion of the visitation. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Sterling will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the team that walked in Deborah’s honor at the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk, Team WAVE DO IT FOR DEB, c/o American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
