TOWNSEND/STERLING – Deborah J. (Yarnell) Andrews, age 72, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at UMass Memorial - Leominster Hospital. Born in Cambridge, the daughter of Victor G. and Evelyn (Dwyer) Yarnell.
Deborah grew up in Billerica and graduated from the Billerica High School Class of 1967, and she lived briefly in Lowell and many years in Townsend before moving to Sterling.
She worked for many years at JCA Crafts Inc. in Townsend. Whether traveling to the coast of Maine or the gulf side of Florida, Deb loved being near the ocean. On an ideal day, she could be found enjoying a lobster roll and a rum punch with her husband, Art, at Barnacle Billy’s in Ogunquit, ME. She enjoyed her flowers, gardening, bird watching, and most importantly, spending time with her grandchildren. She never wanted to miss any event that they were a part of. She loved celebrating the holidays with her family, and the delicious gravy she made from scratch will never be forgotten, nor will her legendary meatballs.
She will be lovingly missed by her husband of 46 years, Arthur F. Andrews; her daughter, Holly F. Iarrobino and her husband, Ryan of Sterling; two brothers, Jack Yarnell and his wife, Rebecca of Hilmar, CA and Michael Yarnell and his wife, Deborah of Billerica; one sister, Terri Linehan of Lowell; her three grandsons, Zachary, Benjamin and Andrew Iarrobino and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Deb lost her dearest friend in life, Gail Lantagne, in 2017. Her family is comforted by thoughts of their reunion and continued friendship for eternity.
At this time, there are no services planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to UMass Memorial Office of Philanthropy: Children’s Medical Center, 365 Plantation St., Biotech One, Worcester, MA 01605. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden.
