WORCESTER – Deanna M. (LaLone) Provost, 69, of Grove Street, died peacefully after a long battle with breast cancer on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at UMass Memorial Healthcare-University Campus, Worcester, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Worcester on May 27, 1942, the daughter of Alfred T. and Albanie B. (Marchand) LaLone.
Her husband Joseph D. Provost died in 1969. Deanna is survived by her two sons, Joseph D. Provost, Jr. of Las Vegas and Thomas J. Provost of Jacksonville, Florida; her daughter, Linette M. Provost of Holden; three brothers, Walter LaLone and his wife Mary of Worcester, Donald LaLone and his wife Alice of York, Maine and Robert LaLone of Rutland; two sisters, Janet Sefakis of Worcester and Lorraine Lambert of Florida; two grand children and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Theodore Provost, and her sister, Terry O’Neil.
Deanna worked at the Roosevelt and Thorndike schools in Worcester for a period of seven years. She later worked as an Insurance Adjuster for the State Mutual Insurance Company and later the Hanover Insurance Company, retiring in 2004. Shortly after retiring, she moved to Las Vegas and returned to Worcester almost five years later. She was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and enjoyed shopping and time at the casinos.
Her legacy is one of hard work, determination, and dedication to and love for her family.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. The Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden is assisting the family with arrangements.
