WORCESTER – Ronald “Uncle Ron” D. Barrows, 71, of Barrows Road, died suddenly at home on Sunday, August 19, 2007.
He leaves his wife of 44 years, Elvira (Zeissler) Barrows; a brother, Robert E. Barrows of Millbury; many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and nephews. His son, James P. Maurais, three brothers, Roland E., Earle I. and William H. Barrows, and two sisters, Eldora M. Moynagh and Udine M. Lehrian, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Earle I. and Britta B. (Banks) Barrows, Sr., and lived in Worcester his entire life.
Mr. Barrows was a machinist for Norton Company for 29 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Worcester Lodge of Elks #243. He was an avid gardener and loved working at home.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 23rd, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A funeral service for Mr. Barrows will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 24th, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
