BARRE – Howard D. Hubbard, 91, of Valley Road died on Saturday, November 18, 2006, in the presence of dedicated staff members at Holden Nursing Home.
He leaves his wife of 68 years, Corinne O. (Cantwell) Hubbard; his son, James A. Hubbard and his wife Eleanor North Carolina; a daughter, Lois F. Almstrom and her husband Russell of Holden; a daughter-in-law, Delores Hubbard of Missouri; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A son, Arthur E. Hubbard, and two sisters, Greta Burleigh and Pearl Cowdrey, predeceased him. He was born in Holden the son of Howard H. and Gertrude (Lundquist) Hubbard and lived in Barre since 1946.
Mr. Hubbard graduated from Holden High School and worked 24 years at Barre Wool and Standard Foundry in Worcester. He attended St. Joseph’s Church in Barre and was a member of the Barre Golden Agers.
Relatives and friends are welcome to gather at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden, from 9:30 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 21, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, 29 South Street, Barre. Burial will be in Glen Valley Cemetery, Barre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Barre Rescue and Emergency Squad, P.O. Box 201, Barre, MA 01005; or St. Joseph’s Church, P.O.
