HOLDEN – David T. Maki, 77, of 71 Main Street, died Tuesday, August 17, 2004 in Holy Trinity Nursing Home.
He leaves his sister with whom he lived, Linda S. Maki, and a sister, Alma Letourneau of Holden; a brother, Eino A. and his wife Barbara Maki of Holden; and several nephews and nieces. Three brothers, William, Olavi, and John Maki, and a sister, Elsie Maki, predeceased him. He was born, raised and lived in Holden, son of Ivar and Linda (Jokela) Maki. He graduated Holden High School in 1945.
Mr. Maki worked for Marcus Department Store in Worcester for over 43 years, retiring as Store Manager in 1987. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Holden, and a 50-year member of the Holden Grange, and a member of the State Grange. He was known for his musical ability, playing piano and accordion at many local functions.
The funeral service for Mr. Maki will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 20, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery, 1290 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 19, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Steeple Fund of the First Baptist Church, 1216 Main Street, Holden, MA 01520; or to a charity of one’s choice.
