WORCESTER - David W. Sadick, 99, died peacefully on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, surrounded by the loving presence of his family.

A lifelong resident of Worcester, David was the son of Moses and Sara (Jacobson) Sadick. After graduating from Classical High, David served as Staff Sergeant during World War II, working in Army ordnance, repairing tanks in England and France. Later in life, he would proudly wear his World War II Veterans hat.

He earned his degree in civil engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, thanks to the GI Bill. He married his college sweetheart, Worcester native and Smith College graduate Nancy (Nore) Sadick, in 1949, and they soon settled in Worcester, where he worked as a construction engineer on some of the city’s biggest developments. When the tornado of 1953 devastated the region, he took a leave from his work to help his father-in-law, who ran a public insurance adjusting business. It was the start of a new career for David, who soon founded Sadick Public Adjusters, Inc.

In his role there, David represented thousands of clients throughout the Worcester region and was known for his expertise and integrity. He was getting calls for advice on his Apple Watch even after his 99th birthday.
David was Master of Level Lodge of Ancient Free & Accepted Masons in 1967 and remained active throughout his life. He was also a lifelong member of Temple Emanuel Sinai in Worcester.

David and Nancy raised their family in Worcester, and were adored parents, grandparents and great-grandparents, and regularly hosted gatherings for friends and relatives.

David will be lovingly missed, and forever remembered, by his children, Barbara Sadick and husband, Kenneth Goldman of Portsmouth, NH; Carol Sadick of New York City; Michael Sadick and wife, Nancy Halpin-Sadick of Fuquay Varina, NC; and Jonathan Sadick and wife, Anne of Holden, MA. Widely agreed to be Best Grandfather Ever, he is missed by his beloved grandchildren, Stephanie Hanes, Benjamin Sadick and wife, Hyemi Ha, Jessica Sadick and husband, Thomas Woulfe, and Scott Sadick and wife, Molly, as well as four great-grandchildren, Madeline Wilson, Lydia Wilson, Jennifer Sadick and Ella Sadick. He is also remembered by his sisters Ruth (Sadick) Rubin and Shirley Ann (Sadick) Friend. He was predeceased by his cherished wife of 68 years, Nancy (Nore) Sadick in 2018. He was also predeceased by his brother, Alvin, as well as sisters, Madelyn (Sadick) Levinson and Phyllis (Sadick) Manko.

Family and friends will gather to honor David’s remarkable life at a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 21 at Temple Emanuel Sinai, 661 Salisbury Street in Worcester. Interment will follow at B’nai Brith Cemetery, 55 St. John’s Road, Worcester. Memorial Observance will be announced. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home of Holden.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Temple Emanuel Sinai, the Angel Fund at Level Lodge, or a charity of your choice.
