STERLING - David G. Hansen, 73, died peacefully on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Sterling Village Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Sterling. He was born in the Corona neighborhood in Queens, New York, the son of George and Mary (Kohler) Hansen and had lived in Sterling for 43 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Catherine "Cathy" (Kohr) Hansen; his sister, Arlene Batchelder and her husband, Martin; his nephews, Jeff Batchelder and Dennis Batchelder; and his niece, Kristin Mahoney.
David proudly served in the U.S. Army working on research in biological defense operations. He was a graduate of Atlantic Union College in Lancaster, where he studied business and psychology. It was during his time at Atlantic Union that David met the love of his life, Catherine Kohr, a fellow student. The couple soon married and enjoyed 46 wonderful years together. For 39 years David worked in sales and marketing at David Clark Co. in Worcester, retiring in 2010. He worshipped at the College Church of Seventh-Day Adventists at Atlantic Union College for many years, where he leaves many dear friends. David took great pleasure in his trips to Aruba and was an avid photographer.
Funeral services for David will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Seventh-Day Adventist College Church Youth Center Program, P.O.
