Biography
WORCESTER - David A. Glick, 82, lifelong resident of Worcester passed away peacefully at the Jewish Healthcare Center, Monday, November 14, 2016. He was born in Worcester, the son of Sidney and Rosemarie (Doobin) Glick.
He operated the family businesses which included Bancroft Motors, Bancroft Tire and Bancroft Rent-A-Car for over forty years. He was involved with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America, and was included on the board there as well as being a longtime member of the Mount Pleasant Country Club, being an avid golfer and board member there. He was a member of Congregation Beth Israel and was a member of the B’Nai Brith Lodge. He loved all New England sports. David was an avid photographer and reader, and he loved his spending his winters in Key Biscayne and summers in Oguncuit. He was a kind, gentle and generous man and would help anyone that he could.
David leaves his wife of 60 years, Sylvia (Fierer) Glick; a son, Jeffrey L. Glick and his partner Joanne McDonnell of Worcester; a daughter, Debby A. Roseman and her husband, Jeffrey of Fairfield, CT; five grandchildren, Ben, Drew, and Emily Roseman and Sam and Matt Glick; three great-grandchildren, Zachary and Jacob Roseman and Mia Glick..
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 16, at 12 pm at B’Nai Brith Cemetery, 55 St. John’s Road, Worcester. Memorial donations may be made to the Jewish Healthcare Center, 629 Salisbury Street, Worcester, MA 01609. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden and Richard Perlman are assisting the family with arrangements.
