WORCESTER - David Michael George, 58, of Worcester passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017. He left us way too soon. He was proceeded in death by his father, James George. Surviving him are his mother, Susanne George in Arizona; a brother, Douglas George and his family in Texas; and a sister, Kathi Arledge and her family in North Carolina; a step-mother, Francis George from Iowa; a step-brother, Mark Weisbrod and family from Iowa; and a step-sister, Beth Ebert and family from Iowa; as well as many friends, whose lives he touched, across the country and from his world travels. After growing up in Iowa, Dave moved to the Worcester area in 1983 to work for DEC/Compaq/HP and Intel in Hudson until 2015. Dave was a loving, friendly, kind, generous and caring son, brother, and friend. He always had an “interesting” opinion on whatever topic was current and was always willing to help out family & friends. He was also an “interesting and entertaining” golfer. He had a very “unique” approach to golf. He played in a Northborough golf league for many years and golfed with friends and family here, across the country, and around the world. Whenever he traveled, his clubs were always with him.He had a spontaneity and love of life that was infectious to all those around him. Dave "Yelp’d" everywhere he went, always looking to find new and interesting food wherever he was. He was an avid reader, and as a child, starting as soon as he was able sit up, he use to turn pages of the Sears catalog and then encyclopedias. It was normal for him to read three or more books in a week. Dave’s love of music was contagious, whether listening or performing, he enjoyed all genres and shared that with his many friends and family. He was in a punk band in the mid-80’s and sang in a local choir in the early 90’s. He was always breaking into song whenever and where ever he was, “Psycho Killer,” from the Talking Heads was always one of his favorites, this made all those around him laugh and smile. He enjoyed Karaoke and knew the words to hundreds of songs. In remembrance of Dave, in the immortal words of Warren Zevon in a song written and performed just before the singer died, “When you get up in the morning and you see that crazy sun - Keep me in your heart for awhile.”Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Dave's family from 2 to 4 p.m. followed by a Service of Remembrance at 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden.
