HOLDEN - David E. Dickman, 71, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 11, 2024, surrounded by his family, at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. Born and raised in Holden, he was the son of the late Everett and Shirley (Boquist) Dickman.
First and foremost, David was a child of God and loved his Lord. In every conversation held with friends or strangers, he would in some fashion, encourage the importance of faith in Christ. He was the proud author of the children's book "The Special Gifts of Chocolate" that told the story of a Labrador puppy who became a seeing-eye dog for someone special. David was a well-known and beloved member of the community and a friend to all. He was also an avid reader and a fan of all New England sports teams.
He will be lovingly missed and remembered by his sister, Cynthia Smith and her husband, Craig of Holden; nieces, Jessica and her husband, Matthew, Lindsay and Sarah; grand-niece, Baylee; and grand-nephews Lukas, Thomas and Charles. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his two brothers, Dennis Dickman and Philip Dickman and his niece, Danielle Dickman.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the family from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 21 at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 in the funeral home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in David's name may be made to Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
