David George Cole

October 9, 1936 — December 4, 2017

WORCESTER – David G. Cole, 81, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Jewish Healthcare after a long illness. He was born in Burke, VT, the son of the late Gordon and Alice (Bissell) Cole. Before moving to Worcester, David lived in Spencer. He leaves his wife of 40 years, Marilyn J. (Hall) Cole; four children, Gary D. Cole of Georgia, Diane L. O’Toole of Spencer, Stephen B. Cole of Charlton and Brian J. Cole of Tyngsborough; two sisters, Dorothy Tandy of New Hampshire and Marilyn Burke of Florida; his brother-in-law, Alfred Hall of Auburn; 14 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews who loved him like a Dad and Grandfather. David was predeceased by his daughter, Lorrie J. Foskett; his daughter-in-law, Susan (Breault) Cole; his brother, Paul Cole; and his sister, Jane DeLuca. David graduated from Holden High School and worked at Wyman Gordon in Worcester for 43 years before retiring in 1998. He also was a licensed electrician. David favorite pastimes were golfing, fishing, camping at Indian Ranch, his Red Sox, Patriots, NASCAR and spending time with his precious kitties, Gracie and Susie. Calling hours to honor David are from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A private committal service will be held at a later date.
