LEOMINSTER – Daryl Sawyer, Sr., 43, of 180 Chapman Place, died peacefully on Sunday, February 19, 2006 in his home surrounded by his loving family after a long illness.
He leaves his son, Daryl Sawyer, Jr. of Ft. Lewis, Washington; his mother, Inez (Sawyer) Lang and step-father Calvin Lang of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands; two brothers, O’Neil Jones of Florida and William Sawyer, Jr. of Fredericksburg, Virginia; a sister, Jeanette Sawyer of Union, New Jersey; several nephews, nieces and cousins. He was born in New York City, the son of the late William Sawyer, Sr. and lived many years in St.Croix and over 20 years in Massachusetts including Boston, Fitchburg and Leominster.
Daryl served in the U.S. Army from 1982 to 1985 and later served six years in the Army Reserves. He was a financial manager at Hanscom Air Force Base for 20 years.
The funeral service for Mr. Sawyer will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, 357 Main Street, Leominster. Calling hours in the funeral home are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, February 24.
