HOLDEN/RUTLAND – Daniel S. Muller, 30, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 29, 2014. He was born in Fort Rucker, Alabama and graduated from Wachusett Regional High School and Mitchell College.
He leaves his parents, Vickie M. (Gibbs) Muller of Rutland and Daniel C. Muller of East Schodack, NY; two sisters, Christin V. George and her husband, Michael and Kathryn M. Weagle and her husband, Andrew, all of Holden; his grandparents, William and Martha Gibbs of Rutland and his grandmother, Doris E. Muller of Rochester, NY; a niece, Emma and a nephew, Tyler. He also leaves many aunts, uncles and cousins both locally and of the Rochester, NY area and special friends he considered his extended family.
Dan, affectionately known as Chumley, was an avid New England sports fan. He also passionately followed his most beloved teams, Alabama Crimson Tide and Kansas Jayhawks. He was a member of a Tuesday night bowling league and was a member of the Choroideremia research foundation. Dan also enjoyed golfing, had a special love for his dog, Hazel and spending time with family and friends. Dan will be fondly remembered as a kindhearted, easy-going person who was truly a blessing to know. Dan had to cope with adversity, having a disease that took his vision, but continued to be optimistic for what his future held. He will be sadly missed and forever loved.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 2, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A memorial service for Dan will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 3, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 346 Shrewsbury Street, Holden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Choroideremia Research Foundation, 23 East Brundreth Street, Springfield, MA 01109.
