RUTLAND – Daniel K. Helle, 65 of 7 Prospect Street, died Friday, July 9, 2004 in his home after a brief battle with cancer.
He leaves his wife of 42 years, Beverly A. (Boulanger) Helle; a daughter, Robin L. Arnoldy and her husband Jack of Danvers; three sons, Daniel S. Helle and his wife Dale A., Erik A. Helle, and Jay R. Helle and his wife Kristine, all of Rutland; two brothers, Philip F. Helle of West Boylston and Richard D. Helle of Rutland; seven grandchildren, Matt and Paige Raymond, Jeffrey, Derek, Ryan, Emma and Siiri Helle; nieces and nephews. He was born in Worcester, son of Klaus F. and Vieno (Matson) Helle, and lived 54 years in Rutland.
Dan graduated from Wachusett Regional High School and Worcester Polytechnic Institute, School of Industrial Management. He worked at Norton Company for 25 years, retiring in 1985. He later worked for the Fallon Clinic as a currier for several years. He was a member of the Rutland Sportsman’s Club, served on the Rural Cemetery Commission and was a founding member the Wachusett Football League and the Rutland Raiders. He enjoyed outdoor activities including hunting and fishing.
The funeral service for Dan will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery, 142 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Rutland. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13, in the funeral home.
