WORCESTER - Daniel A. Aiksnoras, age 92, passed away peacefully at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester on Saturday, January 16, 2021. Born in Worcester, the son of Peter A. and Julia (Kvietkauskas) Aiksnoras.
Dan graduated from St. John’s High School and Post Junior College in Waterbury, CT. In 1950, he married the love of his life, A. Ruth Kacevich, and raised a family together in Worcester before moving to Oxford for many years.
Dan was a talented tool and die maker after having been a dairy farmer in his early years of his married life. He was also an avid wood carver, known for creating beautifully hand-carved birds and many other figurines. Later in life, he would teach classes in wood carving at the Colony in Holden and the Holden Senior Center.
He will be lovingly missed by his wife, A. Ruth (Kacevich) Aiksnoras; two daughters, Joanne R. Ryngrewicz and her husband, David of AZ, Christine T. Callahan and her husband, Paul of Paxton; two sons, Daniel A. Aiksnoras, Jr. and his partner, Philip Paul of New York City, Michael A. Aiksnoras and his wife, Michele of Worcester; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
Funeral Services honoring Dan’s life will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Oakdale Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center Activity Fund, 76 N Main St., West Boylston, MA 01583 or to the UMass Memorial Office of Philanthropy, 365 Plantation St., Biotech One, Worcester, MA 01605.
