MONTEREY, CA/HOLDEN, MA - Dana Bryce Forsberg, 74, passed away in Monterey California, June 1, 2023. Dana was born on November 20, 1948, in Holden, Ma.
Dana is survived by his sister Dianne Erickson, and her husband Gary of West Boylston; his brother Douglas Forsberg and his companion Martha of Wilton, NH; along with many nieces and nephews. Dana was predeceased by his wife Jane; parents Ruth and Edwin Forsberg, Sr.; sister Viola Oliver; brother Edwin Forsberg, Jr.; nephew Grant Forsberg; and niece Sandra Erickson.
Dana graduated from Wachusett Regional High school in 1966 and went on to work for Pearson Electric of Holden until he was drafted into the Army on January 29, 1969. He spent 1 year in Vietnam and Cambodia, was promoted to Sargeant E5, and earned 5 medals including the Bronze Star Medal for Heroism, and the Army Commendation Medal for Heroism. He was later honorably discharged on November 13, 1970.
Soon afterward he left for Carmel, California and began his own business "Digital Systems Interface" which was a refrigeration control company.
As a result from serving in Vietnam, Dana suffered for many years with PTSD, but never talked about it or wanted help.
We will miss Dana and will always love him dearly!
We have planned a "Patriotic Veteran's Memorial Graveside Service" for 11 AM Saturday, August 5, 2023, at the High Plains Cemetery of Oakdale, High Street, West Boylston.

In the case of inclement weather services will be held inside the Oakdale United Methodist Church.
