HOLDEN – Aldona P. (Lukshis) Daly-Boxshus, 81, formerly of Holden died November 3, 2010 after a long illness.
She was born in Worcester; the daughter of Andrew and Catherine (Samson) Lukshis, was an educator, counselor and registered nurse. She was a graduate of Worcester Hahneman Hospital School of Nursing and earned a BS from Clark University and MA from Assumption College in psychology as well as A.B.D. designation from U Mass Amherst. She was a nursing instructor and professor of psychology at Worcester State College for 28 years and retired as Professor Emeritus. She mentored many women in her personal time and enjoyed painting and decorating Faberge-style eggs.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Boxshus and is survived by her son, Thomas F. Daly and his wife Allison Savicz of Chapel Hill, NC; two step-sons, John P. Boxshus, Jr. of Rutland and Mark P. Boxshus of Hull; a step-daughter, Nancy A. Stone of Boston; and five step-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2010 in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
