PAXTON – Cynthia L. (Croft) Fernstrom, 64, of Suomi St., passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, January 13, 2013. Born and raised in Worcester, Cindy was the daughter of John G. and Henrietta (Treadwell) Croft and later lived 15 years in Holden before moving to Paxton in 1982.
Cindy graduated from Classical High School in 1966 and the Art Institute of Boston in 1969. She was an administrative assistant in the Orthopedic Department at UMass Memorial Healthcare Center – Memorial Campus where she worked for over 15 years. Previously she worked at Hahnemann Hospital in Worcester.
She was a member of All Saints Church in Worcester and enjoyed drawing and painting with watercolors. First and foremost, Cindy was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. She will be remembered for her gentle and kind nature.
She is survived and will be lovingly missed by her husband of 43 years, Donald E. Fernstrom; her daughter, Erica L. Fernstrom of Orlando, Florida; her two sons, Mark D. Fernstrom and his wife Christie of Fitchburg and Steven J. Fernstrom and his fianceé Cassie Halko of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Lucy and Jake Fernstrom; a brother, Dr. Bruce T. Croft and his wife LuAnn of Worcester; a niece and a nephew, Julia and Jonathan Croft of Boston.
Cindy’s life will be honored at a private gathering from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, January 18, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden, followed by a funeral service celebrating her life at 2:30 p.m. After cremation, she will be lovingly placed in the mausoleum at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
