WORCESTER/NORTH CHELMSFORD-Cynthia B. Fischer, 66, of Kiberd Drive, North Chelmsford, died peacefully on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, Worcester after an illness. She was born in Worcester and lived in N. Chelmsford for more than 30 years.
She is survived by her father, Eugene A. Fischer of Worcester; a brother, Bruce L. Fischer and his wife Sandi of Millbury; a nephew, Robert Fischer of Millbury; and a niece, Karin Hunt, her husband Richard Hunt and their daughter, Angelina of Oxford; a sister, Lynn B. Fischer and her husband Michael J. George of Jefferson. Her mother, Gertrude H. (Holzboog) Fischer, died in 1989.
Cynthia graduated from West Boylston High School and Colby College in Maine; she spent her junior year of college studying at the Sorbonne in Paris, France. She received her Master's Degree in Education from Harvard University and also received a Master's Degree in Special Education from McGill University in Montreal. She taught French at the Middle School in Weston and later Special Education at the elementary schools in Westford. She worked as a technical writer for Digital and upon retiring, fulfilled her lifelong love of animals by establishing Faithful Friend Pet Care and becoming a Tellington TTouch practitioner. She authored "Our Pets Have a Story To Tell" and founded an annual Pet Wellness Festival with New England Pet Partners in Pelham, NH.
Relatives and friends of Cynthia are invited to visit the family from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service on Saturday, October 18th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden.
