HOLDEN - Cynthia A. (Vasil) Barry, 62, passed away at home on Monday, February 20, 2023.
Born to the late Terry S. and Mahala S.W. (Stiles) Vasil, Cindy entered the world as a cherished beauty, warmly welcomed by all who met her. She attended Worcester and West Boylston public schools before graduating from Worcester State College. Later, Cindy pursued her passion for healthcare, earning a degree in Respiratory Therapy from Quinsigamond Community College. Her career was marked by dedication and expertise, earning advanced certifications that allowed her to provide specialized care in the NICU at UMass Memorial Medical Center and later at MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham, where she displayed exceptional compassion during the pandemic, going beyond expectations to comfort the patients in her care.
Beyond her professional life, Cindy was a vivacious individual with a warm spirit and a keen sense of humor. She was an excellent hostess and had a great love for the Three Stooges. Cindy shared a passion for music with her mother, singing together in the Goodly Company Madrigal singers and traveling to events across state lines. Her musical interests ranged from classical compositions to the melodies of Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra. Cindy found solace and joy by the ocean, particularly in her favorite month of July, when she believed nature was at its most beautiful, resonating with the sun's warmth and light.
Cindy was a loving and devoted wife and mother, with no one in the world she loved more than her daughter. She was very family-oriented and cherished spending time with her loved ones. Cindy's happiest moments were those spent with family, whether hosting festive holiday gatherings, enjoying a quiet evening at home, or supporting her daughter's endeavors. Her unwavering dedication to her family's happiness and well-being was evident in everything she did.
Cindy leaves behind cherished memories with her daughter, Victoria Bates and her husband, Chad of Worcester; her sisters, Lynda Kauffroth-Fulps of Texas, Pamela Derderian of New Hampshire, and Karen Vasil-Busch and her husband, Steve of Maine. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins, and an extended family of former in-laws who will miss her dearly.
