When Cindy was born, all of the nurses said that she was the most beautiful baby they had ever seen. Her parents were Terry S. Vasil, Dental Technician, Worcester and Mahala S.W. Vasil (Stiles) of West Boylston.
Cindy attended Worcester and West Boylston public schools, graduated from Worcester State College and later in life received a degree in Respiratory Therapy from Quinsigamond Community College.
She excelled in her work, acquiring advanced certification enabling her to work in the NICU with infants at UMass Memorial Hospital. During the pandemic she went to work at Metrowest in Framingham. It was not unusual for her to go above and beyond during that time to comfort the sick and dying. Her generosity and spirit for living inspired those whose lives she touched.
She was an excellent hostess and had a great sense of humor. She loved the Three Stooges. Cindy sang with her mother in the Goodly Company Madrigal singers, traveling to events outside the state. Her interest in music spanned from classical to Elvis and Frank Sinatra. Cindy loved the ocean and her favorite month was July. She said that was the month when the sun was the most beautiful, making all of nature sing.
She will be missed by her family and friends and leaves behind a daughter, Victoria Bates and her husband, Chad of Worcester; sisters, Lynda Kauffroth-Fulps of Texas, Pamela Derderian of New Hampshire and Karen Vasil-Busch and her husband Steve of Maine; several nieces, nephews and cousins, and an extended family of former in-laws.
In lieu of a service at this time, donations can be made to one of your favorite charities in Cindy's name.
