Craig C. Ackerman

Craig C. Ackerman, 63, beloved husband of Denise (Dubovick) Ackerman, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at UMass Memorial Healthcare-University Campus. Born in Worcester and raised in Leicester, he was a son of the late Howard A. Ackerman, Jr. and Irene (Winot) Ackerman.

Craig was a graduate of Leicester High School, Class of 1978. He enjoyed a long career at Walmart as a store project coach, and previously, as a plant manager at Leggett & Platt. Craig served the Leicester community for many years as a paramedic and volunteer firefighter and was a trustee of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Leicester/Spencer #4541. He also worked as an EMT for Worcester Himmer Ambulance Services. In his spare time, he was an avid NASCAR fan.

He will be lovingly missed and remembered by his wife of 16 years, Denise; his brother, Bill Ackerman and his wife, Tina of Warren; nieces and nephews; and his faithful companions, Buddy and Bella. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Gayle Ackerman.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with his family from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 4 in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A memorial service will follow at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, 208 Pine Street, Leicester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Leicester Ambulance Fund, 3 Washburn Square, Leicester, MA 01524 or to the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Leicester/Spencer #4541, 850 Main Street, Leicester, MA 01524.
