BARRE – Corinne O. (Cantwell) Hubbard, 98, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at the Holden Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center.
Her husband of 68 years, Howard D. Hubbard, passed away in 2006. She leaves a daughter, Lois F. Almstrom and her husband Russell of Jefferson; a son, James A. Hubbard and his wife Eleanor of North Carolina; a daughter-in-law, Delores Hubbard of Missouri; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A son, Arthur E. Hubbard, predeceased her in 1974.
Corinne was born in Worcester, the daughter of Charles and Cornelia (Roberts) Cantwell. She was a manager at General Nutrition in the Auburn Mall retiring in 1976. Previously, she worked at the Barre Wool Combing Company for 19 years. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and was a member and former president of the Barre Golden Ages. She loved to crochet afghans for family and friends in her spare time. Corinne’s family would like to thank the staff at Holden Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center for their care and compassion.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 22nd, in Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street in Holden followed by a 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph’s Church, 29 South Street, Barre, MA 01005. Burial will follow at Glen Valley Cemetery in Barre. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Joseph’s Church or to a charity of one’s choice.
