Conjetta B. (Mcquaid) Smith

August 22, 1930 — June 7, 2013

HOLDEN – Conjetta B. (McQuaid) Smith died peacefully at home in the presence of her loving family on Friday, June 7, 2013. She was born and raised in Worcester, the daughter of Bernard J. and Josephine (Villa) McQuaid.



Conjetta and her husband moved to Holden in 1958 where they raised their 3 daughters. She worked as a bookkeeper at Quinsig Automotive Warehouse in Worcester for over 30 years. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, trips to Foxwood and being with people. Family was everything to Conjetta. She will be lovingly remembered for her humble, quiet and unassuming nature.



Her loving husband of 24 years, Chandler C. Smith, died in 1983. She leaves her precious daughters, Chandra L. Bratko of Holden, Cathy R. Oliveri and her husband David of Hubbardston and Cynthia R. Smith of Orange; her sisters, Dolores Broderick and Rita DeSimone both of Worcester; 8 grandchildren, Nicholas and Jared Bratko, Jason Bolack, Michelle Oliveri and Richard, Amanda, Elizabeth and Sara Ayer; and her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Margaret McQuaid, Dorothy Haapakoski and Frances Campbell.



Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A memorial service honoring Conjetta’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Grove Cemetery, Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jewish Health Care Hospice, 629 Salisbury St., Worcester, MA 01609.
