Colin P. O'Shaughnessy

May 10, 1989 — December 11, 2023

HOLDEN/BEND, OR – Colin Patrick O’Shaughnessy, age 34, passed away on December 11, 2023 at his home in Bend, OR. Born in Worcester, the son of Rick and Kathleen T. (Harrity) O’Shaughnessy.

Colin grew up in Holden, graduating from Wachusett Regional High School with the class of 2007. He established lifelong friends here whom he stayed in touch with over the years. As a child, his father introduced him into surfing and snowboarding which became lifelong passions for Colin. He enjoyed surfing with his dad and friends in Hampton Beach, NH, Coast Guard Beach, the town beaches of Wellfleet, and Nauset Beach on Cape Cod. Skateboarding was also a huge part of Colin’s childhood. He loved skating with his friends and hanging at Eastern Boarder in Worcester.

After high school, Colin packed his bags and moved to Oregon to pursue his passion for big mountain snowboarding. He settled in Bend, OR, a place that he quickly fell in love with. Located at the foot of Mt. Bachelor, Bend was a dream location for him. It had everything a snowboarder wanted. He lived every day in Bend to its fullest, filling his time with as many adventures, new experiences, and as much fun as possible. There was never a dull moment when you were with him.

Colin attended Central Oregon State College for two years to pursue his dream of working as an EMT and Firefighter. While in school he worked as a barista/manager at Bellatazza coffee shop in Sunriver, OR. He went on to start his own successful business, Bend Cosmetic Tattoo, which gave people with hair-loss their self-confidence back. He deeply cared for others, giving free treatment to cancer patients and others who could not afford his services. He proudly ran his business over the last few years. Before his passing, he chose to donate all of his tattooing equipment to artists in the community with the one request that they keep the spirit in which he ran his business alive. He was a loved and respected member of the Bend community.

He is survived by his father, Rick O’Shaughnessy of Holden; and by many friends and relatives who loved him. He is predeceased by his mother, Kathleen T. (Harrity) O’Shaughnessy.

Colin will be remembered for his adventurous spirit and enthusiasm for life.

A memorial gathering will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 11th at the O’Shaughnessy house in Holden.
