PAXTON – Joseph C. Marshall, Jr., 64, of Richards Avenue, died Thursday, July 14, 2011, at UMass Memorial Healthcare-University Campus, Worcester. Joe was born and raised in Houlton, Maine, and lived 19 years in Paxton.
He leaves his best friend and wife of 39 years, Ann S. (Nakatani) Marshall; his daughter, Lucy A. Marshall and her husband Derrick Anderson of Jackson, Michigan; his son, Joseph C. Marshall III of Rhode Island; his mother, Lillian (Sewell) Marshall Stairs of Houlton, ME; two brothers, Gerald and Michael Marshall both of Houlton, Maine; two sisters, Norma Ellis of Monticello, Maine and Elaine Webb of Augusta, Maine; three grandchildren, Josh Weldon, Joseph and Jocelyn Marshall; two step-grandchildren, Dustin and Savannah Anderson; nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph C. Marshall, Sr.
Joe was a field service engineer for Industrial Dynamics, Inc. in California for 25 years. He was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of the Tatnuck American Legion Post 288 in Worcester. Joe also belonged to Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Senior Bowling League in Paxton. Joe, along with his wife Ann, raised German sport horses at their home in Paxton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A funeral service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 21, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans, JFK Building, Room 15758, Boston, MA 02203.
