SOUTH BARRE – Clifford R. Darling, 67, of Main Street, died Friday, March 3, 2006, in Holden Nursing Home, after a long illness.
He leaves his wife of 46 years, Beverly A. (Pane) Darling; a daughter, Anne C. Ramsey of Barre; four brothers, Wyman J. Darling, Jr. of Leicester, Robert and David Darling of Sturbridge, and Warren R. Darling of Holden; a sister, Beverly Guyette of Rindge, NH; six grandchildren, Anthony, Angelo, Gino, Xena and Vinny Ramsey, and Danielle Darling; a great-grandson, Cameron Darling; several nephews and nieces. A brother, Donald W. Darling, Sr. died in July 2004, and a grandchild, Nico Ramsey, died in 2001. He was born in Worcester, son of Wyman J. and Anna M. (Gulbiski) Darling, Sr., was raised in Holden, lived in Jefferson before moving to South Barre six years ago.
Mr. Darling served in the U.S. Navy. He was the owner and operator of Darling Refrigeration in Jefferson for 35 years, retiring in 1989. He loved fishing, auto racing, wrestling, and raising birds.
The funeral service for Mr. Darling will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 8, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, in the funeral home.
