Cleo George

WORCESTER - Cleo George, age 89, peacefully passed away on December 12, 2022 surrounded by love, and in the care of her nephew, Mark Dionis and his wife, Sandy.

She leaves behind her sister, Sophie George of Worcester; nieces and nephews, Eileen, Nancy, Karen, Steven, Andrea, Lynn, Chris, Peter, Lisa, John and Thomas, many great nieces and nephews and her best friend, Arlene Neuvonen.

Cleo was loved by many and will always be remembered by her humming a tune, whistling, or singing a song. She always had a bounce in her step. She enjoyed spending her free time at Foxwoods, playing bingo, always hoping to hit the big one.

Cleo was bord in Bradford, PA, the daughter of the late Peter and Angelina (John) George. She was predeceased by her sisters, Alexandria Bardho, Naomi Veshi, Catherine Costa, Mary George, Jean George, Elaine Dionis, Anna Pillary, and her brother Gust George.

Cleo graduated from Bradford High School and worked at Caravan Coffee for many years. In her retirement, she worked at Wright Line and later at CMSC Driving School. She was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church.

Calling hours will be on Friday morning, December 16, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, 535 Salisbury Street, Worcester, MA, with the Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
