HOLDEN – Clarence E. Charbonneau, 87, of South Wachusett Street died on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 in UMass Memorial Healthcare after a long illness.
He leaves his wife of 56 years, Doris E. (Oberg) Charbonneau; two sons, Scott E. Charbonneau and his wife Louise of Holden and Lee E. Charbonneau and his wife Kathy of Worcester; two sisters, Ann Lundquist and Bernice Charbonneau, both of Holden; three brothers, Ernest Charbonneau of Tarpon Springs, FL, Howard Charbonneau of Clearwater, FL and William Charbonneau of La Crescenta, CA; two grandsons, David Charbonneau of Brighton and Andrew Charbonneau and his wife Kristen of Uxbridge; and several nieces and nephews. He was born in Worcester, the son of Joseph A. and Edith E. (Johnson) Charbonneau and lived in Holden all of his life.
Mr. Charbonneau graduated from Holden High School and worked at Nissen Bakery in Worcester for 38 years retiring in 1984. He was a World War II Army veteran and served in the European Theatre. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Holden, the Nimrod League of Holden and the Friends of the Holden Council on Aging.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 24th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Grove Cemetery, Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holden Council on Aging, 1130 Main Street, Holden, MA 01520.
