HUBBARDSTON – Christopher P. Hammond Malo, 16, of 9 Kruse Road, died Monday, January 19, 2004, in Heywood Hospital in Gardner.
He leaves his parents, Kenneth F. and Diana K. (Bureau) Malo of Hubbardston; a sister, Kaela T. Veverka of Hubbardston; maternal grandparents, Robert and Rita Bureau of Hudson; paternal grandparents, Nancy Witek of West Boylston, Kenneth F. and Deborah A. Malo of Holden, and Mary Hammond of Marlboro; a maternal great-grandmother, Trinidad Soliz of El Paso, Texas; two paternal great-grandmothers, Mary Bureau of Lowell and Doris M. Malo of Sterling; aunts, uncles and cousins. He was born in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, and lived in Leominster before recently moving to Hubbardston.
Christopher was a student at the G. Stanley Hall School in Worcester. He enjoyed the outdoor activities including white water rafting, camping, kayaking and fishing.
The funeral for Christopher will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2004, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2004, in the funeral home.
