PRINCETON – Chester I. Drury, 84, of Hobbs Road, died on Sunday, May 23, 2010 in the Oakdale Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center, West Boylston.
He leaves his wife of 52 years, Sandra J. (Ranta) Drury; three children, Eric Drury of Leominster, Cheryl Drury and her boyfriend Dana Spear of Webster and Debbie Drury of California; two sisters, Jean and Charlette; five grandchildren, Melissa, Joshua, Nicholas, Alex and Mathew; two great-grandchildren, Amanda and Samantha. He was born in Princeton, son of Chester C. and Eleanor P. (Gates) Drury, and lived in Princeton most of his life.
Chester was an U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II and an Air Force Veteran of the Korean conflict. He worked for the U.S. Government, Dept. of Environmental Management, at Leominster State Forest and Wachusett Mountain for over 30 years retiring in 1997.
Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 27th, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 28th, at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.
