Raymond C. Heath

RUTLAND/HUBBARDSTON – Raymond C. Heath, 44, of Rutland, died Wednesday, January 31, 2007 in the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence, Worcester, after a brief illness.

He leaves his wife of 23 years, Greta C. (Schmidt) Heath; his son at home, Thomas J. Heath; his father, Lynwood E. Heath and his companion Elaine Cronin of Warren; five brothers, Lynwood “Lenny” Heath and his wife Mary of Worcester, James “Jay” Heath of Worcester, Joseph Heath and his companion Jean Kilmer of Leicester, Steven Heath of Oxford and Kenneth “Gene” Heath of Rutland; many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins. His sister-in-law, Donna (Courtney) Heath, of Worcester predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Esther (Greenleaf) Heath, and lived in Hubbardston for many years before moving to Rutland. He was a graduate of Doherty Memorial High School.

Ray worked for Industrial Polymer and Chemicals in Shrewsbury for 13 years. Previously he was a cook at Colony Retirement Homes in Worcester and other local area restaurants. He was an old car enthusiast, enjoyed the New England Summer Nationals, camping and playing baseball with his son.

The funeral for Ray will be held on Monday, February 5, from the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 290 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Rutland. Burial will be private in Evergreen Cemetery, Hubbardston, at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, February 4, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701; or Why Me? Sherry’s House, 1152 Pleasant St., Worcester, MA 01602.
