Biography
HOLDEN – Charlotte A. (Nelson) Daigle, 85, a lifelong Holden resident, died peacefully on Friday, June 29, 2012 at the Holden Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center. Charlotte was born in Holden on December 8, 1926, the daughter of Einar and Agnes (Moran) Nelson.
Her loving husband of 47 years, Edmond J. Daigle, died in 1996. She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte A. Moses of Holden; a grandson, Jeffrey Moses of Holden; a brother, Alan M. Nelson of Holden; a sister, Patricia E. Moran of Summerville, South Carolina; and many in-laws, nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Donald R. Nelson, who died in 1933.
After graduating from Holden High School, Charlotte attended the Worcester School of Business Science. She worked as an office manager for M.G. Masnik Inc. in Worcester and later for Branded Liquors. Charlotte was a devout member of Saint George Church on Brattle Street in Worcester and was a founding member of its Parish Women’s Guild. She enjoyed summers at Hampton Beach and spending time at reunions with the USS Boston shipmates.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 2, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 3, from the funeral home with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Saint George Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, 1326 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Saint George Church, Repair Fund, 40 Brattle Street, Worcester, MA 01606.
