BOSTON/HOLDEN – Charles Frank Dorsey, 59, of Dorchester, was stricken ill and died on Tuesday, May 10, 2005, in Carney Hospital, Boston.
He leaves his mother, Janith C. (Finlayson) Dorsey of Holden, cousins and many friends. His sister, Linda E. Dorsey, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Charles L. Dorsey and lived in Holden and many years in Dorchester. He graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in Holden and from Northeastern University in Boston. While in college he worked as a reporter and photographer for the Chelsea Record and upon graduation as editor of the Wareham Courier. He was also a contractor and finish carpenter. His most recent occupation was developing gardens and playgrounds for the Gardenlands Preserve & Development Corporation in Dorchester.
The funeral for Mr. Dorsey will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, May 14, in St. Francis Episcopal Church, 70 Highland Street (Rte. 31), Holden. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery, 1290 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Francis Episcopal Church, 70 Highland Street, Holden, MA 01520; or a charity of one's choice. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden, is directing arrangements.
