Charles 'Chuck' A. Medine

March 22, 1945 — June 2, 2017

HOLDEN – Charles “Chuck” A. Medine, 72, of Holden passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017 at UMass Memorial Clinton Hospital after an illness. Chuck was born in Holden, the son of the late Arthur H. and Ruth E. (Adams) Medine.
Chuck was raised in Holden and was a graduate from Wachusett Regional High School in 1963. He later attended Fitchburg State College and graduated in 1967 with a degree in occupational/vocational education. He taught drafting for many years at Don Bosco Technical High School in Boston and Nipmuck Regional High School in Upton. He left teaching in 1980 and went to work at Walker Magnetics in Worcester. Chuck later worked at Jamesbury Corp. retiring in 2008.
Chuck married the love of his life, Suzanne Picard on December 19, 1970 at St. George’s Church in Worcester and lived 16 years in Worcester before moving to Holden in 1986. One of his favorite past times was going fishing.  Chuck and Sue vacationed many summers at their summer residence at Swanzey Lake in Swanzey, NH where he loved to relax with his friends and family, kayak and fish.  He participated in many bass fishing tournaments and was a member of the Bass Masters Association.
He spent many years taking care of family members, his beloved “Nanny” and all three of his grandchildren. Chuck was kind hearted, good natured, easy-going and had a great sense of humor which was usually associated with a twist of spirited sarcasm.
He will be affectionately remembered and missed by his wife, Suzanne M. (Picard) Medine; a son, Matthew W. Medine and his wife, Caitlin of Hubbardston; a daughter, Kirsten A. Ramsey and her husband, Dennis of Hubbardston; a brother, John Medine and his wife, Susan of Ashford, CT; a sister, Gail Medine of Sturbridge; three grandchildren, Jack and Abigail Ramsey and Anna Mabel Medine; as well as many nephews and nieces.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Chuck’s family from 4 to 7 pm on Wednesday, June 7, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Thursday, June 8, at St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton St., Jefferson. Interment will be held privately at St. John’s Cemetery in Worcester.
