HOLDEN – Celia R. Oliver, 81, of Wachusett Street, Jefferson, formerly of Princeton, died at home surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, August 15, 2011.
Celia was predeceased by her loving husband of twelve years, retired Holden Police Chief James S. Oliver, who died in 1991. She leaves her two daughters, Rae Kwiatkowski of Holden and Lynn Howard of Jaffrey, NH; a step-son, Michael J. Oliver and his wife Sherry of Holden; a step- daughter, Kelley A. Henderson and her husband Scott of Holden; two sisters, Alice Nolan of Albany, NY and Claire O'Connor of Princeton; a brother, Alan Vanasse of Hampton, VA; 10 grandchildren, 9 great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Celia was also preceded in death by a son Mark V. Armstrong in 2006; a step-son Timothy J. Oliver in 1979; three brothers and one sister. She was born in Holden on September 27, 1929, the daughter of Alfred and May (Fontaine) Vanasse.
Celia grew up in Princeton and graduated from Princeton High School in 1947. She later moved to Jefferson in 1979. Celia was a member of Saint Mary's Church in Jefferson.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 20th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Main Street, Holden. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Affinity Hospice of Life, 14 Crosby Drive, Bedford, MA 01730.
