NORTHBOROUGH – Cecelia A. (Turpin) Jones, 89, of 238 West Main Street, died Friday, September 29, 2006, in the VNA Hospice Residence, Worcester, after a long illness.
Her husband 48 years, John A. Jones, died in 2004. Her first husband, George Marsh died in 1951. She leaves two sons, George M. Jones of Rutland and Dana R. Jones and his wife Maureen of Shrewsbury; a sister, Sister Mary Dolores of St. Colman’s Convent in Waterveliet, NY; six grandchildren, Christopher, Jennifer, Brian, Michael, Eric and Alexander; a great-granddaughter, Hunter; and many nieces and nephews. She was born in St. Lawrence, Newfoundland, Canada, the daughter of Henry and Cecelia A. (Nolan) Turpin.
Mrs. Jones was raised in Millbury and was a 1937 graduate of Millbury High School. She was employed in the food industry for many years working a Clark University, Norton Company, Bancroft School and Quinsigamond Community College.
The funeral service for Mrs. Jones will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 3, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will be private in North Cemetery, Main Street, Oxford. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 2, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608-1280.
