HOLDEN – Grayce C. (Carlson) Anderson, 93, of Brentwood Drive, died peacefully on Saturday, July 18, 2009 in the Sterling Healthcare Center.
Her husband of 53 years, Hilding H. Anderson died in 1994. She leaves a son, Bruce C. Anderson and his wife June of West Boylston; a daughter, Beverly Fraser and her husband Roy of Holden; four grandchildren, Brian Anderson of Cumberland, RI, Beth Campbell of Holden, Pamela and Scott Fraser both of Holden; and three great-grandchildren, Drew and Ty Anderson and Addison Grayce Campbell. She was born in Worcester the daughter of Carl E. and Ljuva (Brynteson) Carlson and lived 58 years in Holden.
Mrs. Anderson graduated from Commerce High School in 1934 and from Becker Business School in 1936. She was a financial secretary at the former Worcester County Ecumenical Council, retiring in 1986; and later was a secretary at the Greater Worcester Community Foundation, retiring in 1993.
She was a charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Worcester and a former member of its Mary-Elizabeth Circle. She was a life member of the Holden Garden Club and a volunteer at the Holden Senior Center.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21st in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22nd, in Trinity Lutheran Church, 73 Lancaster Street, Worcester. Burial will be private in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Memorial donations may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, 72 Lancaster Street, Worcester, MA 01609; or the Friends of the Holden Council on Aging, 1130 Main Street, Holden, MA 01520.
