HOLDEN – Marjorie C. (Bernard) Walsh, 85, of 26 Sherwood Dr., died Monday, October 13, 2008 in UMass Memorial Healthcare, Worcester, after a brief illness.
She leaves her husband of 58 years, Bernard C. Walsh; five sons, Martin C. Walsh of New York City, NY, James F. Walsh of Petersham, Daniel B. Walsh of Hingham, David B. Walsh of Illinois and Michael J. Walsh of Oxford; a daughter, Kathleen A. Walsh of Bridgton, ME; four sisters, Dorothy Brown and Janet O'Connell, both of Warwick, RI, Elaine LaPierre of Myrtle Beach, NC and Charlene Watson of Sanford, NC; 9 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Charles E. and Claire (Cartier) Bernard, and has lived in Holden for 50 years.
Mrs. Walsh was a graduate of Shrewsbury High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. In 1983 she earned her associates degree in Occupational Therapy from Quinsigamond Community College. She was an Occupational Therapist at the Lutheran Home in Worcester for many years and most recently, she worked for Dr. Amrick S. Pabley in Holden. She was a member of St. Mary's Church.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 17th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral for Mrs. Walsh will be held on Saturday, October 18th, from the funeral home with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery, 1290 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden.
