Biography

BARRE – Catherine T. (McKeon) Hastings, 70, passed away at the home of her daughter on Saturday, August 1, 2015 after an illness. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Francis J. Sr., and Constance V. (Pentland) McKeon and had lived in Barre for over forty years.

She leaves her loving daughter, Meghan K. Harrington and her husband, Kenneth of Billerica; two brothers, Francis McKeon, Jr. and his wife, Mary-Jo of Millbury and Kevin McKeon and his wife, Roxanne of Worcester; a sister, Connie Bunker and her husband, David of Rutland; a grandson, Patrick Harrington; four nephews, David, Jr., Sean, Ryan and Bryan; two nieces, Stephanie and Katie Lee; two grandnephews, Tyler and Evan; and many cousins.

Catherine was an assistant at Nina Marcinowski Tax Consulting in Barre for several years. Previously, she was a dental assistant in the Worcester County area. She was a member of the former St. Joseph’s Church, now St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Barre. She was an avid reader, gardener and enjoyed crossword puzzles, cooking and attending the Tuesday night rosary group.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Funeral services for Catherine will be held from the funeral home on Wednesday, Aug. 5, with a 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis of Assisi-St. Joseph’s Chapel, 29 South Street, Barre. A private committal service will be held at the convenience of the family.
