Carole E. (Lampila) Lyon

FRAMINGHAM - Carole E. (Lampila) Lyon, 89, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023, after a long illness at Leominster Rehab and Nursing Center. She was born on October 1, 1933, in Arlington, and raised in Maynard and Stow the daughter of Arthur and Eleanor (Davis) Lampila.

Her loving husband of 40 years, Gilbert R. Lyon, passed away in 1996. She is survived by her children, Garrison Lyon and his wife, Deborah of Mississippi, Gregory Lyon and his wife, Ann Marie of Delaware, and Alexandra Lyon Peto of Sterling; her grandchildren, Michael Lyon and his wife, Dana of Delaware, Tara Turchak and her husband, Nick Turchak of New Jersey, and Heather Lyon and fiancé, Anthony Rossi of New Jersey; her great granddaughter Claire Lyon; her sister and brother-in-law, Judith (Lampila) Devine and Robert of Estero, FL; her cousin, Joan (Hansen) Richards of Massachusetts; and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, David A. Lampila of New York.

Carole was a doll collector and avid lover of life. She loved Broadway shows with her husband and family and enjoyed music, reading and movies. She travelled to Europe and enjoyed many Disney World trips to doll shows.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15th in the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling. Funeral services for Carole will be held on Thursday, February 16th at 11 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a committal service at Edgell Grove Cemetery, 53 Grove Street, Framingham. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452, or an Animal Shelter of your choice.
