Carol J. (Nesmith) Macdonald

December 29, 1949 — February 2, 2015

STERLING – Carol J. (Nesmith) MacDonald, 65, passed away peacefully with her loving daughters by her side on Monday, February 2, 2015, at Sterling Village after a brief illness. She was born in Bronxville, New York, the daughter of William Malcolmson and Therese (Anderson) Nesmith and had lived most of her life in Sterling.



She leaves two daughters, Cynthia I. Plouffe and her husband, Mark of Hubbardston and Janice M. Modugno and her husband, Gary of Beverly; a brother, Donald Nesmith of Haymarket, VA; three grandchildren, Chad and Olivia Plouffe and Colby Modugno; four nieces; and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.



Carol was a medical billing clerk for many years in the Worcester County area and was a licensed hairdresser for many years working from her home for family and friends. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed crocheting, gardening, trips to the beach, vacationing at Lake Placid, New York, going to her grandkid’s sporting events and was a member of First Church in Sterling.



The funeral service for Carol will be held on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 11 a.m. in the First Church in Sterling, 6 Meeting House Hill Road, Sterling followed by a reception in the parish hall. A committal service will be held in the spring at Hillside Cemetery in Sterling. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Church in Sterling, P.O. Box 40, Sterling, MA 01564. Arrangements are under the care of the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling.
